The Spore Project
The Spore Project is envisioned as a community project in which participants can take a glass mushroom into a landscape they deem significant, take a picture of it, then return the glass mushroom with picture and coordinates to its origin. The pictures – acts of creativity inspired by the Spore Project – will be collected onto a site that maps the relationship of where the mushrooms were borrowed and where they went.
In the same way that mushrooms eject spores and create their own windforce through convective currents to disperse them through the landscape for reproduction, this project aims to grow a body of creative work by putting creative work into the world as means to inspire creative work by others, exposing a network or “mycelial body” between individual acts of creativity.
